The 12th Annual Student Career Days, held during Tree Care Industry (TCI) Expo 2008, featured “tree detectives” who conducted investigations into tree ailments, as well as an in-tree skills competition designed to test work ability, speed, and safety knowledge.

Students enrolled in arboriculture, forestry and related programs in two- and four-year collegiate and vocational training programs competed in the free events.

Mark Chisholm – third generation arborist, two-time world champion of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Tree Climbing Championship,16-time champion of the ISA New Jersey Chapter’s state championship, and world record holder in the secured footlock event – was also in attendance.

TCI Student Career Days and Skills Competitions are an opportunity for students to get a real experience in the field they study. The trade show floor becomes an off-site classroom where students learn about the latest products, equipment, and advances in the industry.
