The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) announced that the deadline to submit nomination forms for its International Awards Nominations is January 15th, 2009.
The awards include the following:
Award of Merit: Highest honor ISA can bestow. Recognizes outstanding meritorious service in advancing the principles, ideals, and practices of arboriculture. Granted only to members of ISA.
Alex L. Shigo Award for Excellence in Arboricultural Education: Recognizes the important role that all forms of education play to enhancing the quality and professionalism of the arboriculture industry. Granted only to ISA members in recognition of sustained excellence in arboricultural education.
Award of Achievement: Granted only to members of ISA in recognition of sustained outstanding effort or contribution to the advancement of ISA.
R.W. Harris Author’s Citation: Granted to authors of outstanding publications for sustained excellence in the publication of timely information pertaining to the field of arboriculture.
Honorary Membership: Recognizes individuals who are not members of ISA who have continued interest and outstanding service in promoting arboriculture (Honorary individuals are also given a complimentary 12-month ISA membership. Recipients will have made material contributions to the advancement of arboriculture through research, field practice, promotion, invention or literature.
Honorary Life Membership: Granted to members of ISA who have contributed materially and substantially to the progress of arboriculture and have given unselfishly in their efforts to support arboriculture (Honorary Life individuals are given complimentary membership for their lifetime – this membership is non-transferable).
L.C. Chadwick Award for Arboricultural Research: Granted to individuals to recognize research that has contributed valuable information to arboriculture.
