Now equipped with 2-knife machined rotor, larger tires, 180-degree silo swivel discharge and direct drive with belt power transfer, the next generation Beever M6R is safer, more efficient and more operator friendly.

 The Morbark Beever M6R brush chipper, previously the Clipper 6, has undergone a transformation. Now equipped with 2-knife machined rotor, larger tires, 180-degree silo swivel discharge and direct drive with belt power transfer, the next generation Beever M6R is safer, more efficient and more operator friendly.


The Beever M6R is the only 6-inch-capacity rotary chipper on the market. Morbark collected feedback from its customers to address the common issues associated with disc style chippers in this size range. M6R owner Steve Powell of General Rentals Corp in Evansville, Indiana stated, “I was very pleased with the performance of the Beever M6R. This is going to be a very popular chipper for our rental yard”.


The Beever M6R features reduced space between the rotor and feed wheel, minimizing the space for material to lodge or turn sideways, avoiding costly starter or belt tensioner repairs. The rotor design eliminates wrapping of material around the disc shaft, saving time preparing the machine for the next job. The 12-inch-diameter, 2-knife machined rotor with removable drum shaft and 1/2-inch-thick, dual-edged knives allows full knife coverage with even knife wear. Chipper knives are held in place using (4) Grade-8, Hex-Head Bolts, as an alternative to shoulder bolts with washers and lock nuts, reducing knife change time by 50 percent.


The Beever M6R is direct driven from a Kohler 27-hp. gasoline engine with belt power transfer, replacing the Honda 24-hp. gasoline engine and eliminating the direct coupler utilized on the previous design. The Kohler engine offers better side load capabilities to utilize the belt power transfer and increases available horsepower by 12.5 percent. Ergonomic infeed design standards, 12 percent larger infeed perimeter opening, exclusive hydraulic drum braking system and larger tires provide a safer and more comfortable operating environment. “Improvements in these areas resulted in increased operator visibility, operator safety and loading height, improved on-road handling and machine stance,” said Jason Showers, Morbark commercial sales manager.
