This new triple-action gate mechanism has been developed in response to a recent change in climbing competition rules that has effectively outlawed the use of double-action snaps for personal protection. Although the strength and performance of ISC’s traditional double-action snap (SH901) is more than enough to accommodate climbing activities, the lack of a triple-action gate has been an anomaly in the industry.
ISC’s new triple-action snaphook (SH903) needs three separate actions to open it, and therefore is perfectly suitable for use in climbing activities where triple-action connectors are required — in particular on fliplines and adjustable lanyards.
The design has been trialed and evaluated by several climbers around the world, and the general feedback is that it is simple and easy to use.
The SH903 snaphook is now in production and ready for dispatch in January. Contact ISC for more information on pricing and availability at firstname.lastname@example.org
