Davey Institute of Tree Sciences announces class of 2010 graduates

Thirty-two employees of The Davey Tree Expert Company have completed the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (DITS). The month-long program, which was first conducted in 1909, is the flagship training program of the company and includes classroom and field exercises in climbing and safety procedures, tree and plant care, disease and pest diagnosis, management practices and team building.


Christopher Martin, an employee of the company’s West Denver office, received the Golden Oak Award, which is earned by the student with the highest academic performance.


Attendees were drawn from operations of Davey and its subsidiaries in the United States and Canada.


Participants include: Johl Anderson, Brian Baker, Robert L. Borghi, Matthew Bova, Brandon Brundrett, Justin Burger, Oscar Contreras, Matthew Ganoe, Andrew Gembecki, Rebecca Greenberg, John Groschke, Matthew Haro, Cheyenne Hartzell, Todd Johnson, Robert Korynas, Kasey Krouse, Adam Maille, Christopher Martin, Michael McCollum, Bryant Merkley, Daniel Miranda, Christopher Paribello, Ross Parker, Matthew Petty, Aidon Pyne, Sebastiao Riberio, Todd Schmelzenbach, Charles Shonts, George Sumbler, David Taylor, Gregory Vaverchak and Trevor White.
