Arborwell, a Hayward, Calif.-based tree care company, announced that Bill Owen will become the company’s first safety director. This position has been created in an effort to expand and strengthen the company’s safety program with enhanced safety through professional development.
The Safety Director will be responsible for developing, maintaining, coordinating, and monitoring Arborwell’s safety, emergency preparedness, and hazard communication programs. He will be responsible for coordinating and implementing safety and emergency preparedness policies and procedures, including: conducting and coordinating investigations; advising and training on safety; disseminating safety information; analyzing information; and preparing reports.
Arborwell is aiming to become an industry leader by enhancing the company’s safety program and exceeding industry standards. A significant focus on safety is vital in the tree care business. Safety training ensures that not only our employees are safe, but also that our clients and their property is safe, thus creating a culture of safety. “By sharing my perspective and incorporating various training techniques, I will demonstrate that safety and efficiency also enhances employee morale, and therefore profitability,” said Owen.
Bill Owen has worked in the tree care industry for 16 years, 3 of which have been with Arborwell as the Plant Health Care Manager. “In the short amount of time I have worked with Arborwell I have receivedan incredible amount of support for professional development by upper management,” said Owen. “My goal is to convey this spirit of professional development to all field workers.”
