TCI EXPO 2010 was held November 11-13 in Pittsburgh, and perhaps the biggest news to come out of the show is that TCI EXPO might co-locate with the GIE+EXPO conference and trade show in Louisville, Ky. in 2013.
Conference organizers for TCI are still gauging exhibitor interest in the idea of co-locating at least once, and no decision regarding co-locating has yet been made. But such a move would not be unprecedented — the Hardscape North America conference and show, which in the past had been a stand-alone show, co-located this year with GIE+EXPO, and will do so again in 2011.
GIE+EXPO was formed in 2007 when the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute merged its International Lawn, Garden & Power Equipment Expo with the Green Industry Conference and Expo (presented by PLANET and PGMS).
GIE+EXPO 2010 was host to approximately 20,000 participants and featured 750 exhibits in one 425,000-plus-square-foot exhibit hall as well as the adjacent 642,000-square-foot outdoor demonstration area.
As for TCI EXPO 2010, the sun was shining on the show — both outdoors with temperatures in the 60s for the Student Career Days, and indoors at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, which is a green building feature plenty of natural light.
The Student Career Days featured diagnostics competition, tree care skills competition, a climbing demonstration by ITCC Champion Mark Chisholm, a Job Fair and more.
Inside the convention center, attendees earned CEUs at the workshops, seminars, and tree demonstrations; and were also able to view products and offerings from throughout the industry on the trade show floor.
