Terex Environmental Equipment, (TEE) improved the performance of its smaller arborist chippers with a new clutch system on the TAC Woodsman 700 and 710.
Tom Johnson, engineering manager said, “The improved clutch is a result of feedback from rental customers which lead to our research and development team undertaking a detailed analysis to provide a solution. The TAC Woodsman 700 and 710 are utilized predominantly in the rental market and we believe these changes will make it easier to use and provide a better experience for the rental market customer”.
The previous style clutch required operator knowledge and was manual in its operation. However, with the new centrifugal clutch system engagement is simpler and smoother. The clutch is automatically engaged at full rpm, so there is no room for operator error. Additional advantages of this new clutch are a smoother engagement during use and a longer belt life.
