Promising findings on pine wilt disease

In his Investigations into pine wilt resistant pinus sylvestris study supported with a TREE Fund John Z. Duling grant, Jason Griffin (Kansas State University) propagated trees with apparent pine wilt resistance by grafting. He then challenged them with the pine wilt nematode to determine their resistance. Of the seven genotypes that were challenged, only two plants from a single genotype died from the disease.
