The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Online Learning Center (OLC) has been streamlined for improved functionality and accessibility. The OLC is a 24-hour portal to learning and professional development in the field of arboriculture featuring self-paced training courses on a variety of topics.
A goal of the recent upgrade was to streamline the process for purchasing and accessing courses.
Courses may now be purchased via the ISA web store, along with any other product. When someone chooses a course, a link sends them to the web store to make the purchase. Once the purchase is complete the course is instantly available. Another new feature is the ability to review the results of the quiz that is provided at the end of an online course. Individuals are able to see immediately which questions they missed.
The OLC can also be used to prepare for the ISA Certified Arborist® exam by purchasing The Introduction to Arboriculture Training Series. This series is a self-paced, highly interactive set of 25 courses that supplement the certification study guide. ISA will continue to expand the OLC with new courses including topics geared for municipal and utility arborists.
A leader in arboriculture education, ISA originally launched the OLC in 2011 to create an infrastructure of affordable and easily accessible learning opportunities for arborists across the globe. These online courses provide alternatives for professional development and continuing education. ISA also offers the ArborPod series of podcasts for additional online learning opportunities.
