To celebrate Arbor Day, Almstead Tree & Shrub Care Co. once again sponsored the Junior Arborist Station at Wave Hill, a 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx. The event took place on April 25 on the Wave Hill grounds.
Kids ages seven and older were able to don tree-climbing harnesses and hardhats and climb on to the canopy of a large, old sugar maple tree, under the watchful eyes of experienced Almstead climbers, to get a birds-eye view of the Wave Hill grounds. Arborists from Almstead were also on hand to answer any tree-related questions from young, budding arborists.
“The Junior Arborist Station is a lot of fun for us to do because we get to meet the future arborists and environmentalists from our community,” said Ken Almstead, CEO. “We are also very pleased to continue with our support of Wave Hill. Their mission is an important one that aligns perfectly with what we do as a company.”
Arborists from Almstead’s four offices will participate in several Arbor Day celebrations throughout the region during the months of April and May. Please visit www.almstead.com for more information.
